Your role: grow the portfolio, drive the business

As Commercial Manager, you are the commercial engine behind the Jan Dekker portfolio. You work hands-on with IMCD’s local commercial teams worldwide to accelerate sales, grow margins and strengthen market positioning.

You are not a people manager, you are a partner, challenger and product expert. Someone who helps teams win deals, remove obstacles and turn opportunities into results.

Your impact

You will:

  • Drive sales growth and margin development of the Jan Dekker portfolio globally.
  • Act as commercial sparring partner for IMCD local sales teams worldwide.
  • Translate Jan Dekker’s strategy and objectives into clear commercial actions.
  • Support deal-making by clarifying value propositions and addressing customer objections.
  • Proactively remove operational bottlenecks that impact commercial performance.
  • Lead and contribute to regular business reviews with local IMCD teams.
  • Forecast sales targets and support teams in delivering against them.
  • Actively manage the opportunity pipeline and identify new customers and portfolio gaps.
  • Monitor inventory performance and collaborate closely with operations on supply, stock and NCRs.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and new distribution channels.
  • Stay on top of market trends, customer needs and portfolio developments

What you bring

  • 5+ years of commercial or sales experience in (chemical) distribution and/or industrial B2B.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue and margins in an international context.
  • Strong sense of partnership: persuasive, solution-oriented and commercially sharp.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; Analytics/JDE is a plus.
  • Excellent command of English; Dutch is an advantage.
  • Structured, accurate and highly accountable in your way of working.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for action and results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Based in the Amsterdam area with a valid EU work permit.
